When a new frog shows up in his territory, BoRock feels the need to 'get rid of this guy'. BoRock knows he is a superb jumper, so he challenges the newcomer, Ebenezer, to a race around the pond. BoRock soon learns that Ebenezer is faster, but remains confident that he can win the race. Everything changes, however, as they encounter a life threatening surprise near the end of the race.
Do you know a child who might be hesitant to allow a new friend into his or her life? A new baby, perhaps, or a step-sibling? Let them see how a frog was able to overcome his discomfort and allow the new frog to become his best friend.
Because it combines poetry and science, this book, is an excellent choice to use as a cross curriculum material in the early elementary grades or special education at all levels.
Illustrations are delightful, full-page water color pictures.
Be on the look out for more BoRock and Ebenezer books as the story continues in the next episode of The Frog Friend's Epic Adventure.
